Black Friday Coffee Machine Deals Buying Guide

BLACK FRIDAY COFFEE MACHINE DEALS BUYING GUIDE

Choosing the right Black Friday coffee machine deal for you is key. The last thing you want is to be left with a model that is over complicated and doesn’t make the coffee you love. Here are the things to look out for so you can find the right machine for you:

Not all machines make every type of coffee, so the coffee you prefer will determine what machine you buy. Cheaper, more basic models often only make espresso, but if you love milky coffees, such as cappuccinos and lattes, you will need to get a coffee machine with a built-in steam pipe or a milk frothing accessory. There are three types of coffee machine, traditional, bean to cup and capsule. They all use different types of coffee.

BLACK FRIDAY CAPSULE COFFEE MACHINE

We have found that a good capsule coffee machine can cost as little £40 and is a quick and easy way to get a coffee kick. All you need to do, is pop in a capsule and press GO. The down side is you are usually stuck with one brand of capsule.

BLACK FRIDAY BEAN TO CUP MACHINES

Bean to cup machines can cost more than £1,000, but we found some for around £300. These machines will produce the freshest coffee as they grind whole beans. Although some do allow you to use ground coffee too.

TRADITIONAL COFFEE MACHINES

Traditional coffee machines cost anything between £60 and £600 and use ground coffee or coffee pods. The coffee goes into a basket, called a porter filter, which fits to the machine and holds the coffee. Water is then forced through at pressure. If you decide to go for a traditional machine, then we recommend trying to fit and remove the filter in shop as we have found this can be quite stiff.

MACHINE FEATURES

Some coffee machines are fully automated and can remember what type of drink you have regularly, so this means you just have to press one or two buttons. You can also use an automated milk-frother so you don’t have to master the art of using one. We found a real variation in how well these work. If you like to experiment with coffees, or to make lots at once, then you want to look for a machine that has lots of options so that you can change the amount of coffee, the strength or the temperature. Some machines have built-in cup storage and a cup warmer, which means the cup stands on the top of the machine as it warms. You could just do this yourself using hot water. If you live in a hard water area, it is worth looking for one with a built-in water filter. We find that you don’t have to pay a lot to get some of these useful features. There are numerous mid-range models which will make your life easier and make a great coffee. Ideally you want to look for a large drip tray, so you don’t have to keep emptying it too often and one that is easy to remove. Make sure you check the water tank capacity, get a bigger one if you would like to be able to make several coffees at once.
